Class 8 Maths Group - Comment on this post to share how you solved the above problem. Remember to talk about the strategy you used not just the answer. You can post either as just you or in a group of 2 or 3.
I did this. So in the first week on the first day Monday she gets $10 and the rest of the week she gets $2. so 6x2 = 12 +10 = 22. For david on his first day he gets $1 and the rest of the week he gets double so it would be 2,4,8,16,32, = 64. I rather be david because he gets payed more and gets double the money.
This is how me Jessica and Elizabeth got the strategy and how we got the legs too so started off with 8x2=16 and then I did 3x4=12 and then we add the answers together and it made 28 and that's how we get the answer.
Sally starts with 10 and all ways adds 2 David starts with 1 and all ways doubles that. David will get 64 for 1 week Sally will get 22 for 1 week I would be david because if it was two weeks I would have $458 to spend. But Sally would have $36 to spend. By Khaia, Stevenson and Brooklyn
Sally got 10$ on the first day then 12,14,16,18,20,22 and after that I did 12+14=26. 18+20=38. 22+10=32. 26+38=64. 64+32=96. David got 1$ on the first day then 2,4,8,16,32,64. 64+1=65.

I have found a solution for this problem so first Sally starts of with $10 and then you have to add $2 every day. On the other hand David starts with $1 and then doubles it. I would rather be David because he gets $64 for the first week
Sally has $10 on the 1st day $12 on 2nd day $14 on 3rd day $16 on 4th day $18 on 5th day $20 on 6th day $22 on 7th day. And that adds up to $112. Then David has $1 on the 1st day then he has $2 on the 2nd and then has $4 on 3rd day and then $8 on the 4th day and then has $16 on the 5th and on the 6th he gets $32 and on the 7th he gets $64 . Then that adds up to $126 and I would rather be David.
