Mini Book Reviews - By Stevenson, Kyan, Ariana, Katareina & May

The Students in Class 8 have been given the opportunity to have a quick browse of some brand new, hand picked books for them. Below are their first reviews.

Mini Review:
Today my friend, Collin, and I were reading a book called Pirates vs Ancient Egyptians in a haunted museum. The book is about bloodthirsty Pirates and crazy Ancient Egyptians who break into a haunted museum and look for the priceless golden howler monkey. Who will find it first?

This morning we got some new books. I saw the one that was right for me which was the book called Gorilla city. It has great vocabulary interesting pictures and funny looking cards. its about a man named charlie small. I give it a 10 out of 10.

I have been reading a book called The brain sucker. It's written by Glenn Wood. Already I've read only two pages and its excellent. Its about about a boy named Callum McCullock and he is paralysed. It's his birthday and he is turning 13 years old. For his birthday present he got a brand new jet black thunder kit X5 All-Terain wheelchair.

We have been talking in our class about our books and my last one I didn't like it was HORRIBLE! Man I love this book though because it is interesting and funny. I've read three chapter so far in 6 minutes! This book is about a boy who's dad is sick and keeps sneezing and when he sneezes his snot goes on him. The boy tries to find his mum so she can make his dad some medicine but she is gone somewhere in the valley and he needs to find her.

This book is called Gangsta Granny.

It's about a boy and every single day he has to go to his granny's house because his mum and dad love going to the Ice Skating Dancing TV show. He doesn't like hanging out with her because he thinks she is boring but she thinks she is a Gangsta. Also one time she went to the gym with a top and shorts and bling, bling necklaces! My rating that I will give to this book will be a 10/10.

TO BE CONTINUED..........

Mini Book Reviews - By Lucy, Jalen, Shaitarn & Ariettah

The Students in Class 8 have been given the opportunity to have a quick browse of some brand new, hand picked books for them. Below are their first reviews.

This is a book that I was given to read and so far I like it. It is called 'Secret Agent vs Giant Slugs'. Its funny and you can draw in it too. What I really like about it is the plot and how they solve it with salt bombs (spoiler) and I would rate it a 9 out of ten. There are also other books like this called Romans vs Dinosaurs on Mars! So you should check it out.

Here is a story about a boy called Tom Hassler. It is about Tom going on fun adventures, I will give this story 10 out of 10. This is a story mostly for boys. I hope you will like this story as I do.

This morning we had got some new books. They are so cool. Here is some writing of what I think of it. The book I had just read was named Gorilla City. This book is interesting because it's got good vocab and lots of detail. This book has a map and a picture for a card.

In my literacy class we have new books that Mr Somerville bought us. We got a chance to pick a book and here's my book that I choose. When I read the back of the book and it had lot's of interesting vocab and I like the characters.

Can I tell you a little bit about my book? It's about a boy who had millions off cash and he was the richest 12 year old boy in the world who could get what ever he wanted. A fact is that this is obviously a fiction story.

Mini Book Reviews - By Marilyn, Collin, Khaia & Aaron

The Students in Class 8 have been given the opportunity to have a quick browse of some brand new, hand picked books for them. Below are their first reviews.

This is the book that I am reading which is called Mr Stink. I would describe this book as a hilarious book. I have only read 1 page and a half but I am keen to read more. I would rate this book a 10/10. I can not wait to read more of this awesome book !

Mini Book Review:
Today I have read a really interesting book with my friend Stevenson. It is fiction with lots of characters and amazing pictures. This story would probably be rated a 10 out of 10 because it is interesting, funny and you can even draw in it. I have read a lot of books but this probably is my first favourite and my second is The Holocaust Escape.

I have been reading a story called Monkey Bars and Rubber Ducks so far I have only read 3 pages. It stars off at lunch time when 4 friends set of for lunch. They then recognize that there friend, Copper pie, Wasn't there. So they just leave and start saying that he will turn up. A few minutes later he turns up and his friends ask him where he has been suddenly someone interrupts, It was there enemy callum. Callum said somewhere he shouldn't have been. And that is all I have read so far. I would rate this book for the three pages a 7 and a half out of ten. That is because it is interesting and I haven't read the hole thing.

Today my literacy teacher, Mr Somerville bought us new books so we don't get bored. So here is some of what happened in the 1st chapter.

There is a boy who's name is Evan and so his older brother Chris broke his leg after skateboarding and his parents band skateboarding for their family, but Evan loves skateboarding. To be continued... What I liked about this book was the vocab because it hooks in the reader and then they get interested in this book. The Author for this book is JAKE MADDOX, Illustrations by SEAN TIFFANY. Also there are more books like this which makes me really excited.
