Camp Time!!!!!!! - By Ashlee

5 & 6 Camp 2012
Room 16 loved camp so much they wanted to make a movie about it. They also want to say a huge thank you to all the teachers and helpers who made this years camp the best ever! We hope you enjoy.
Camp Cooking - By Raeleen
Today on the first day of camp my team, The Dream Team, had camp cooking. The girls went with Mrs Jarman and the boys went with Whea Raewyn. The girls were making chocolate chip cookies. I was so excited because I have never made chocolate chip cookies before.
Now it was time for us to start cooking. First we had to put half of a block of butter into a big plastic bowl. Then we had to put 1 whole cup of sugar and mix it together. Later on we had to crack the egg into the bowl and mix, mix, mix! Then the best part, the chocolate. Then the final touches. It was when you had to make it into a circle then use a fork to squash it down. Then we had to put it in the oven and wait for it. Finally it was already cooked and it was time to leave.
5 & 6 Camp - By Levi
There was a challenge that my team, “The Dream Team” had to complete. It was called Top Town. We bet the other team called the “Respect Stars". One of the things that I liked was making the puzzle. The puzzle that I made was Richie McCaw doing the haka. There was a lot of activities and we won all of them except one. The other team only won the water balloon fight because we sadly lost that round of the game. The best one for me was that we had to do the three person slingshot. That was very fun!
Camp - By Jabez
Camp started with a long walk to the hall. We entered the hall with lots of excitement. We sat in our lines quickly because we thought we were getting points. We rushed outside after we prayed and went to the first activity. Strolling toward Mr Jacobson we entered a world of happiness! Mr J went over the rules of our favourite game and then we started. We flipped over boards, had a water balloon fight, crawled under a tunnel, and threw gum boots. We did all of this while shouting. Then we went kayaking. It was a lot of fun!
Day One at Camp - By Tevita
On Wednesday we were having a camp meeting in the hall. Then we got to go to our first activity. The water balloon fight. When we finished we went Kayaking and Jacob was falling on the beach. I had heaps of fun on the water. Then we went to the fire for camp cooking. When our day had finished we got to go Tamaki College to have a shower and play basketball. It was a great day!

"Yay! We're going kayaking," I said with great pleasure. Walking down to the point I was so excited. But most time I felt a little concerned that I might fall out! Mr Burt was explaining the ways of holding the kayak paddles. "You will notice a bumpy handle on the blue bit," He said. As soon as I got on the kayak I sighed. Camp - By Mele
On Wednesday it was our first day of camp and it was so exciting. When the bell rang we had to line up in front of our class. But this time we didn't wait for anyone to get into the line and it was a miracle because nobody was talking but the people who were nervous. When we got into the hall we got into our teams which were the Super Chargers, Fully Charged, True Crew, All Stars and the Responstars. Our team leaders were standing at the front of our team lines trying to get the people quite and into their lines.
On our fist day of camp some people were very excited. Some people looked like they did not want to come to camp and the team leaders were trying to get people who were still talking to close there mouth so that we could get onto the camp activities at some point. When it was quiet Miss Garden started telling us what we are going to do when we get out of the hall. Miss Garden told us that our first activity was at the swimming pool at YMCA.
My highlight was Kayaking with Mr Burt.We had to walk over to the Point England reserve.
When we got there Mr Burt and his helpers Feki and Joe showed us how to get into the kayak. Our instructions were foot bottom foot. When Feki and Joe finished Showing us and telling us the instruction they showed us something diffrent from last year camp, it was a double kayak and it could fit two people. Finally it was time to get into the water. The water was so cold that I wanted to get out but we weren't aloud to. While we were waiting for our turn we had stay in the water so that we could get use to the cold water when it is our turn in the Kayak. Finally I got a turn I first went on with Maru. Maru was in the front so that means that she had to lead but I could choose where to go. When we had to turn around the pole it was a bit scary but I managed to get it right. When it was time to get out it was freezing like we just finished eating heaps and heaps of ice blocks. I had heaps of fun kayaking and I can't wait until we go kayaking next year on camp.
Camp - By Lola
On Wednesday last week the year five and six had there camp, and the year sevens and eight finished there camp on that day. I was really excited because we were just starting our camp. We were waiting for people to arrive to school. When we were waiting I put on allot of sunblock because it was really sunny outside.Anxiously waiting in a line for the bus to come we were yelling and screaming as well as being hypo so that the bus can come but it did not so we had to wait for about a minute. While we were waiting we were getting ready to go to Swimarama in Panmure,as soon the bus came we all got in the bus, we tried to fit every body into the bus.
When we got there we all got in our group lines ready to go in. First Mrs Garden said to the people that were in the swimming race to go and get changed. We were all waiting for them to finish there race. When they were all finished it was time for all of us to swim. I didn’t want to go in the pool because it will be so cold but lucky the sun was shining onto my face, so I decided to go in the pool.
Next it was my group to go on the hydro-slide we all got three turns and then we went to the pool we were playing tigey in the pool is was fun because there were allot of people playing. Next I felt hungry so I went and ate my sandwich after that we went and got changed because it got cold. After getting changed we all got our stuff and went outside so that our bus can come on time. When the bus came we made sure that everybody were there then we went back to school.
